Thanks to a collaboration between Manx Care & BtG, the Hospital Youth Co-ordinator, who manages the Hospital Youth Service is available to support all teenagers and young adults with ongoing health needs both on the wards and in the BtG Pod.

The Hospital Youth Co-ordinator supports teenagers through the transition from paediatric to adult health care and up to the age of 24, this includes those receiving their care both on & off the island. Whilst Ben is based in the Pod he is also able to do home visits if required. For further information please contact: hospitalyouthservice@gov.im

In addition Ben co-ordinates bookings for the private use of the Pod for inpatients aged 16-24 when they are well enough to spend time away from the adult wards with family or friends.

The Pod is also used for group sessions and available for bookings by health professionals to meet with young adults when required.

The Pod is available for bookings between 9am & 9pm, however please note that Pod bookings must be made by ward staff or health professionals. For advance bookings please email: hospitalyouthservice@gov.im or when required on the day by phoning: 07624 566957

Hospital Youth Service and Hospital Youth Club

The Hospital Youth Service supports teenagers through the transition from paediatric to adult health care and up to the age of 24, this includes those receiving their care both on & off the island. The Hospital Youth Service is based in the Pod and looks at the holistic health needs of young people. Support can be very individualised and is centred around the needs of the patients. This includes; inpatient/outpatient support, community engagements, education support and external hospital activities such as youth clubs and youth forums. TeenZone on Children’s Ward

BtG has funded a TeenZone on Children’s ward where older teenagers on the ward can meet with health professional and health professionals or relax when well enough to spend time off the bays. In 2025 the charity will be funding a refurbishment of the TeenZone.
