The vision of Bridge the Gap is to improve facilities and support for teenagers and young adults with long term health needs and so BtG set about securing a space within Noble’s in which a youth worker could base.
In the absence of a room within the hospital, it was agreed that BtG could design and build a ‘Pod’ in one of the courtyards.
This space will be the first age appropriate environment for young adults at Noble’s, the base of the BtG youth worker project and a ‘home from home’ where young adults can escape clinical wards when their medical conditional allows. Young people with long term health needs can also arrange to call into the BtG Pod when at Noble’s for outpatient appointments, scans, blood tests, etc., this under the supervision of the youth worker whose salary is also funded by BtG.
BtG is delighted to be working in Partnership with the Departments of Health and Education, together we can ensure the best possible support and facilities for young patients with long term health needs.
